Happy Samhain!

This is a new year for those who practice Wicca and a time to reflect on the past year. Here are some quotes on living, to help one reflect on the year past and the year to come. I think that was also one of the motivations for me to get pierced. To experience life. To get my hands into it. I haven't done that in a long time. "Live as if your were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever." -Gandhi I think I will try to learn a new thing every day. Well, either I will or I won't. "Either do or do not, there is no try." "Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow." -Anonymous Constant Reader, I do hope for tomorrow. I am hoping that this upcoming year will be a good one, especially since this time I an travelling with Mike in this life path. We are closer than we have ever been before and it's exciting and frightening at the same time. "Some people weave burlap into the fabric of our lives, and some weave gold thread. Both contribute to make the whole picture beautiful and unique." -Anonymous I used this quote in my MetaJournals article. I love it. I want to learn to see the beauty in others, especially those that in the past I would have thought never to be beautiful. I want to start experiencing life not just in little bursts but to feel the constant rush of it. "Do not dwell in the past, do not dream of the future, concentrate the mind on the present moment." -Buddha Sometimes, I dwell on the past too much. I shall try not to this year. I disagree with Buddha to not dream of the future. I am always dreaming, always looking for something better for Mike and I. "Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could; some blunders and absurdities have crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; you shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense." -Ralph Waldo Emerson I like this too. Tomorrow is a new day. I hope to let go of my past problems and focus on the future. I do blunder about a lot. I can't help it. I'm a human being. I tend not to be so forgiving of people, although I want them to be so forgiving of me. I want to change that. "The purpose of life is a life of purpose." -Robert Byrne I am searching for my purpose. Accept no one's definition of your life; define yourself." -Harvey Fierstein I've always considered myself a strong woman. I like how bold I can be sometimes, how empassioned. I want to be that way all the time. I want to be more assertive. Sometimes, I think if I was thinner, I would be that beautiful, assertive person that I could be. I hate exercise, but I think being more assertive would be harder than becoming thinner... One last thought before I leave you. This is the most beautiful of all the quotes, in my opinion.
